Textilsetur islands residency
September 2018
An autumn month spent on the North-West coast of Iceland on residency
at Textílsetur Íslands (now Textílmiðstöð), Blöndúos, studying the Icelandic sagas, histories and oral storytelling, Icelandic wool, and local plant dyes.
Work created through this residency has been exhibited in exhibitions Gluggaveður at Bílskúrs Gallerí, and Labour of Body at Corban Estate Art Centre, and covered in an essay published in the Autumn 2019 issue of ArtNews New Zealand, while setting the groundwork for future practice (extending into a First Class (with Distinction) MVA at AUT University, 2019-2020).
